Sustainable Development and Sustainability

Sustainable development and sustainability are concepts that associate the idea of preserving the environment with the idea of economic and social development.

Sustainable development is based on the preservation of natural resources and consists of meeting the needs of current generations without compromising the needs of future generations, while ensuring a balance between economic growth, respect for the environment and social well-being.

Us and the Planet

To minimise the environmental damages caused by excessive waste production and the over-exploitation of natural resources, certain ways of acting preventively have emerged.

That is how the “3 Rs of Sustainability” concept emerged, which refers to three fundamental principles for promoting more sustainable practices in everyday life:

Reduce: Minimise the consumption of natural resources and materials;

Reuse: Give objects and materials a second life;

Recycle: Transform discarded materials into new products.
